Making a Chi Nei Tsang, Massage Therapy or Reiki Appointments Please allow 1 hour for your session. The actual treatment time is 50 minutues with 10 minutes allowed for consult, resting and dressing if necessary. For Chi Nei Tsang please do not eat or drink for 1 hour before your treatment. For Chi Nei Tsang and Reiki please wear loose fitting clothing. A top with loose waisted pants works well. Please download, print and fill out the Chi Nei Tsang & Therapeutic Massage Intake form from the link below. For Reiki only Page 1 is necessary. Your First Acupuncture Appointment As a new acupuncture patient you will need to bring a completed New Acupuncture Patient Information Form to your first appointment. You will need Adobe Reader 9.0 to download the form. If you do not have Adobe Reader you can download it now. Adobe Reader 9.0 Download New Acupuncture Patient Information Form If you have trouble downloading the form you will need to request a form to be mailed to you. Please allow sufficient time before your appointment to receive and complete the form. Some guidelines to follow: If possible please wear or bring clothing that gives easy access to your abdomen, back, arms and legs (i.e. tank top and short or baggy shorts). Please make certain you are not too hungry or too full before your acupuncture treatment; and, no alcohol should be consumed before or after your treatment session. What to expect: Acupuncture needles are more like filaments than needles. They are very fine, made of stainless steel and are sterile. Each needle is used only once and then discarded. When the needle is inserted you may not feel it at all, or there may be a very slight moment of sensation when the needle is inserted. Once the needle is in you may feel warmth, a dull sensation or slight numbness, or a spreading of energy. These are all signs that the insertions are working. Sometimes little or nothing is felt at the insertion sites, but a there is a feeling of deep relaxation that effects the whole body. Payment: Payment is due at the time of your treatment. Please see the Schedule of Fees for treatment fees and information about accepted forms of payment. Insurance: If your medical insurance reimburses patients for acupuncture we can provide a super bill which you can submit to your insurance carrier. Please check with your medical insurance carrier regarding its reimbursement policies for acupuncture. Payment remains due at time of service. We do not participate as an in-network provider with medical insurance coverage at this time.
